My name is Darren George Hill and I am a songwriter/composer, producer and musician working in a variety of styles and genres. I have just delivered the final score for Jason Young’s short film animation The Axe Laid To The Root, the story of Robert  Wedderburn, the 19th century campaigner against slavery.  The film is due for release in 2013; further details are available at IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2008650/. I’m delighted to report that online film company The Great Escape has asked me to produce the score and theme music for their feature-length horror web series. 12/0412 “THE SHOT” RELEASED in HD

IIwas recently approached by director-writer Jamie Murray to produce a score for his  short film “The Shot”.  Jamie told me he “loves every minute” of the score and accepted my first draft without requiring any modifications. The completed film has now been released and is available to view in HD on YouTube.

SONG OF THE YEAR - RUNNER UP!

I was delighted to learn today that my song  ‘Araknyd’ was a runner-up in the international Song Of The Year contest. I am informed by SOTY that my song “did incredibly well in the contest. Your song received extremely high scores and was found to be competitive with the winning songs.
